"Zany" doesn't really begin to describe it, but it's also very well-crafted - I love the transition from the titular western hoedown motif into an "invincible" disco groove, complete with vocoder. Well, maybe something like Excel Saga would be a better fit, but either way, if you're even vaguely familiar with J-pop, especially the variety that populates the wild world of anime, you'll spot the influence from a mile away. It's in Japanese, and easily sounds like it could be the OP or ED theme from a magical girl show about some inexplicably blonde Japanese pre-teen who transforms into a voluptuous super-hero, with a gratuitous talking animal sidekick. This mix of the ' Overworld BGM' theme from SMW (and 1-1/ Invincible from SMB) provides a pretty good introduction to his style - a bipolar, flamboyant, genre-shifting, enthusiastic, spastic melting pot of singing, talking, and just about everything else. Made (in)famous largely through his YouTube presence, Japanator reported earlier this year that the popular Japanese VGM arranger is none other than Kenichi Maeyamada, a notable anime composer whose work has appeared in One Piece & other shows.
